We know what you're thinking - "Yeah, but where does the money I donate actually go?"
Our board members all volunteer our time so you're not donating to pay someone's salary. We work from home so we don't have the overhead costs of a big office.
Historically, 97-99% of donations go directly to projects in Ghana and Kenya. Unfortunately, we do have to pay for boring stuff like bookkeeping, taxes and website fees.

We are so happy to start phase 2 of Porter's School. The new classroom block will help expand the school through grade 6. The school is providing 25% of the costs to build. That still leaves us with about $16,000 to help fund the project. Please help us change lives in Kykewere!

Your donations helped build a home for this family of 29! The home has also become a temporary safe haven for children who have lost their parents or are in a situation where they need a safe space while family members can be located to care for them. Our donors help to provide food and supplies as well as maintenance costs for the home. Our beautiful friends are happy, healthy and well cared for because of our wonderful donors.

When we helped fund Mama Yaa's home, we wondered what would happen to the kids when they are out of primary school. In Ghana, they can choose to go to regular secondary school (high school) or go on to receive technical training or very specific training (like sewing). If you think you would like to sponsor one of the children at the home, please email info@buildingblocksinafrica.org.
